# Staking and trading account linking issues

### Do I need to link a trading and staking account if I trade and stake on the same account?

* No, this linking feature is only for users who want to trade and stake on separate accounts

### Can I change the trading account that is linked?

* No, linking is permanent. Unlinking is not supported

### Will my staking account continue to receive [staking discounts](https://hyperliquid.gitbook.io/hyperliquid-docs/trading/fees#staking-tiers)?

* No, the staking user will not receive any staking-related fee discount after being linked to a trading account

### Why can’t I set up my staking and trading account link?

* Linking requires the trading account to send an action first. The staking account then finalizes the link

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://hyperliquid.gitbook.io/hyperliquid-docs/support/faq/unstaking-and-link-staking-issues/staking-and-trading-account-linking-issues.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
